Mittweida
The county and university town Mittweida is situated in a beautiful scenery within the Saxon hill area. It lies on the western banks of the river Zschopau and is surrounded by the landscape protection areas of the Kriebstein Reservoir, the Mid-Zschopau Valley and the Mittweida Zschopau Valley. The town, which first was mentioned in written form in the 12th century, lies within the Free State of Saxony, close to the city Chemnitz.
Because of its neighbourhood to the state capital Dresden and the cities Leipzig and Chemnitz, Mittweida has quite good traffic connections concerning motorways, railroad and airlines.
