Traffic connections
The best way to get to Mittweida is the motorway A4. Coming from the east, its fastest leaving the A4 at Hainichen, coming from the west leave at Oberlichtenau / Chemnitz-Ost. There are only 10 km left to reach Mittweida. Additionally using the train for visiting our district town is very conveniently.
The railway station lies at the connection between Chemnitz and Döbeln leading passengers to other train connections for long-distance travels, which is a service of the "Deutsche Bahn AG" (German railway association).
Coming by plane, the nearest airports are in Dresden (appr.65km) and Leipzig (appr. 90km). From there Mittweida can be reached by train within about two hours. In the Mittweida county and the town itself it is quite recommendable to use the public transport system offered by Regiobus which provides a well-extended net of stations and bus stops for fast and easy travel.
